Front of House

FRONT OF HOUSE:

Front of house positions requires a hands on attitude, a nice and clean appearance to go with the style and finesse of a trained waiter. Front of house experience is a must, (3-year minimum) and basic English knowledge is paramount. At this point we do not accept candidates with big piercings, extreme haircuts and/or tattoos on the neck or on the head.

 

Front of house manager

As we are constantly aiming to improve the customer experience we are looking for an outstanding person with lots of charisma and not afraid of being a leader. This is the ultimate challenge for a dynamic and forward driven person who never settles for the standard norm. The Front of House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the catering operations. Prior experience in this position and a valid driving license is mandatory.

At The Cutting Edge you will…

 

  • Be a host to our guests. Interaction, and hospitality toward the diners at the events is not a facet of the job, but the job itself. Even behind the scenes in production
  • Manage a team of front of house staff including scheduling, training, and general supervision
  • Keep inventory up to date, do the ordering every day and predict the usage of the beverage stock many weeks down the road. At The Cutting Edge we order a lot of things 2-3 weeks ahead and this means that you have to be organized and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail.
  • Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards in your area
  • Oversee that all opening and closing duties of the venues are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained
  • Work closely with the Head Chefs to provide a seamless experience and make sure that all inventory that is used on events comes back to the headquarters
  • Work at our production headquarters in Establiments, Palma de Mallorca and on different venues all over the Island.
  • Report directly to the owner on both daily and weekly meetings

 

Waiters:

Waiters are the backbone of the dining room and obviously the face of The Cutting Edge. We are looking for staff that is willing and capable to act as such and at the same time offer flawless service with a great attitude and attention to detail.

 

At The Cutting Edge you will…

 

  • Self Start. While there is a team to train and guide you, a propulsive attitude towards taking on responsibility is essential to the company’s success.
  • Be fast, speed is of essence since we are serving large quantities of food and drinks at specific times and the schedules are to be followed.
  • Receive training on how to do most of the tasks the way we need things to be done and respect given recipes and methods
  • This is a Catering company so it entails lots and lots of loading and unloading vans, building new kitchens at different locations every event and quite a bit of heavy lifting. It also means that you might find yourself helping other departments with whatever is crucial at that point.
  • Work closely with the kitchen staff, The Cutting Edge is one team with one goal and the old-school attitude of “us and them” just doesn’t fly here.
  • Be a host to our guests. Interaction, and hospitality toward the diners at the events is not a facet of the job, but the job itself. Even behind the scenes in back office
  • Be an integral part of a hierarchal dining room brigade. Discourse and creativity are deeply valued here in conjunction to an understanding of; “Yes, Boss!” 

 

Back office supervisor:

Crucial position on events where you will take care of all the back office tasks such as build up and take down bars, load the different stations with drinks before events, helps the waiters during service with dirty plates etc. The position requires muscles, both mentally and physically but you do not need prior experience in a dining room, however having worked in the service industry is a plus. A valid drivers license is mandatory

 

At The Cutting Edge you will…

 

  • Maintain the back office. Cleaning, and lots of it. Cleanliness is paramount to the nature of The Cutting Edge’s drive.
  • Ensure that all The Cutting Edge’s material comes back to the head quarters and sync with the Chief of operations. 

 

EXTRAS ON EVENTS:

Do you already have a job but want to experience something completely different than the normal Monday to Friday grind and make some good money at the same time? We are always looking for extra hands on events and would love to work with you as long you have the same great attitude as we do!

 

  • We need people both in the kitchen and in front of house. Please keep in mind that this is a Catering company. It entails lots and lots of loading and unloading vans, building new kitchens and dining rooms at different locations every event and quite a bit of heavy lifting.
